The Youth Center at Los Pinos

In May 2021 we acquired a property immediately adjacent to the "shanty town" at Los Pinos.  In August we officially opened the center with our first day providing tutoring for 27 children from the Los Pinos community and 22 teens attending a club "hang out" that evening!  The Youth Center, or "el club", will be in full operations in 2022 with a target of 50 children receiving tutoring 3-4 times per week.    With the local schools being so overcrowded that each student only attends classes every other week for about 4 hours a day, our tutoring program brings students in during their "off week" in classroom style sessions run by credentialed teachers and assistants.
